Zeitz MOCAA - Museum of Contemporary Art Africa

The Zeitz museum is the largest museum of contemporary African art in the world.  The building used to be an old grain silo, built in the 1920s, and was once the tallest building in Sub-Saharan Africa. The building was converted by Thomas Heatherwick and opened in 2017.  Matilda loved running around the basement which is a maze of tunnels where they used move the grain on conveyor belts through the silos. The museum shop is also worth a visit! My favourite exhibition was Nandipha Mntambo who makes eerie human forms out of cow hides. Each artist shows an insight into African culture and history.
